Powerflushing for Radiator Efficiency

Over time, heating systems build up sludge, rust, and debris, leading to cold spots on radiators, reduced efficiency, and extra strain on your boiler.

A powerflush is a deep clean that restores your system’s health. We connect a specialist machine that pumps high-velocity water with cleaning chemicals through each radiator in turn, breaking down and removing the sludge. The waste is collected on a powerful magnet inside the machine, showing just how much debris has been stripped from your system.

Every radiator is then flushed with clean water to remove any remaining chemicals before the system is refilled with fresh water and inhibitor to protect against future corrosion. Finally, we balance the system and use a thermal imaging camera to confirm everything is heating evenly.

The result: warmer radiators, better boiler efficiency, lower energy bills, and a longer-lasting system.

Gas Appliance Installation, Servicing & Safety Checks

Regular servicing is the best way to keep your boiler safe, efficient, and reliable. At LH Plumbing and Heating, we carry out thorough checks, cleaning, and testing — never a “quick once-over”. Our goal is to help prevent breakdowns, keep your energy bills down, and make sure your system is running safely.

Importantly, annual servicing is required to maintain most boiler manufacturers’ warranties, so keeping up with your service protects your investment as well as your home.

As part of every service, we carry out a system water quality test, in line with new Building Regulations. You’ll receive an electronic report showing the health of your heating system. This test highlights issues such as corrosion (indicating a need for a powerflush) or low inhibitor levels (which help prevent corrosion). Many companies skip this step — but we believe it’s essential for giving you a clear picture of your system’s condition.

If you’re a landlord, we also provide Gas Safety Certificates (CP12). We’ll inspect all gas appliances, flues, and pipework, and issue the required certification to ensure you remain compliant with legal obligations. We make the process straightforward by arranging visits directly with tenants if needed and providing digital copies of certificates for your records.

We can also carry out underfloor heating maintenance, including adding biocide to protect against bacterial growth and ensuring the system’s sight glasses are clean and functioning.
